new glass projects

Once again, we are firing up the hot-glass this week to start on a new blown glass sculpture for another new hotel in Las Vegas. We consider this art piece to be a blown glass chandelier that is embedded into a pedestal making it more so a blown glass sculpture. We will be working on this project for about four weeks between blowing all of the “Chandelier” parts and fabricating the metal armature. Then the fun part…the installation! I’ll be posting photos of the hot-glass in action…we’re working in teams to make this project as it requires so many big blown glass elements..lets put the muscles to work!!!

glass sculpture

Working in hot glass is amazing to me. What starts out as a molten glob of liquid sand, through movement and turning and heat and care, becomes a chandelier, a sculpture, a bowl, an award, a gift, a flower or something as small as a marble. Amazing!!. It intrigues and fascinates me every time!
